You are warmly invited to a relaxed Sunday afternoon and early evening with the David Skinner Trio.
The trio works deep within the swing tradition, with a strong emphasis on improvisation, interplay, and spontaneous musical dialogue. The music breathes, stretches, and takes chances, while maintaining momentum, a clear pulse, and a strong groove.
Pianist David Arthur Skinner is regarded by many as one of Norway’s foremost jazz pianists, known for his stylistic range from stride and classic swing to bebop and more modern forms, combined with a personal touch and an unwavering sense of time.
On double bass, Jens Fossum brings depth, authority, and drive. A central figure in Norwegian jazz, known for his big sound, steady pulse, and melodic improvisation that anchors the music and propels it forward.
Drummer Magnus Eide completes the trio with momentum and finesse. His strong sense of time and flexible, responsive playing give the music elasticity, precision, and momentum.
In this intimate trio format, every nuance of the communication is audible — ideal for close listening and for dancers who appreciate space, flow, and a clear rhythmic foundation.
As always, café tables and bar are available, with swing DJs in the breaks. The dance floor is ready.
