Oslo Swing Jazz Festival brings swing jazz and social dancing back together.
While many jazz festivals focus on modern expressions, Oslo Swing Jazz Festival celebrates the swing tradition, featuring some of Norway’s finest musicians dedicated to music made for both listening and dancing.
The festival is rooted in the atmosphere of historic jazz clubs. We belive there can be no such thing as too much live jazz and we present 7 live bands on Friday and Saturday. There will be breaks between the concerts to give everyone a bit of breathing room. After the final concert for the evening there will be DJs.
The weekend starts early with a pre-party on Thursday (separate ticket), and finishes on Sunday with Jazz for Kids and a Tea-dance.
The festival is non-profit and made possible through the generous support of Bårdar Swing Club, Cafe Society, New Orleans Jazz Workshop, Jazzforum, Oslo Kommune, and Kulturrådet.
for Listeners & Dancers
Top notch swing jazz paired with a proper dance floor.

The Venue
The beautiful Forstanderskapsalen offers generous space, excellent acoustics, and a smooth hardwood dance floor. With bars, a restaurant, cafés, and a rooftop terrace, Sentralen provides an ideal setting for both music and social dancing.
The Music
From intimate trios to swinging octets, the festival celebrates the improvisation, rhythm, and joy of the swing era with a modern touch. The musicians are the best swing jazz musicians in Norway.
The Seating
Plenty of seating is available for those who prefer to sit back, listen and fully enjoy the performances. We set aside about half the space in the room and reserve seats close to the stage.
The Dance Floor
An international swing exchange atmosphere with a sizable dance floor at its heart. For swing dancers, this is a dream: an exceptional amount of live music by professional musicians, covering every swing dance style, followed by DJs late into the night.
